Charla’s View on Fashion
We’ve been out “interviewing” dozens of women – getting advice straight from those that want to get to know guys like you. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be posting what these girls have had to say.
What do you consider to be the number 1 fashion mistake guys make?
For me, the most common mistake guys make is not paying attention to the way they look. I believe fashion varies, and what suits one may not suit the other, but still it is very easy to pick out the guys who have put some thought into their outfits. They stand out over the ones who just don’t care about their appearance (and generally hygeine as well).

What do you think of “peacocking”?
One word, Lame. There are way better ways to ‘stand out’ in a positive way – for instance, being the life of the party, being able to make people laugh, having a contagious smile and a glowing personality.
“Peacocking’ to me sounds like a man crying out for attention and just seems to desperate.

Jessica’s Fashion Advice…

What would be the number one fashion mistake guys generally make?
The number one? Well there is usually a good number of fashion mistakes made by guys. But I’ll go with wearing clothes that dont fit. Some wear clothes that are way to big, and not at all flattering to their features and just looks grungy. Or some wear clothes that are too small, need I really explain? [extra small t-shirts to try and show off muscles - yuk!]
From my opinion a girl is looking for a well groomed, well dressed man who can find the right style and colour to enhance his physical attributes and grab someones attention.

Hei Matau
I don’t recommend “extravagant” peacocking attempts, but something stylish and unique can help out your small talk skills dramatically. Quite often a visible piece of something unique will have people approach you to talk about – of course, if you notice something unique that someone else is wearing, it is a great way to start a conversation.
A seductive conversation or not – remember, it is all about practicing your skills in communications!
I noticed this little ‘gem’ the other day… hand carved from bone and very reasonably priced. I’m an avid scuba diver and so these have ‘meaning’ to me and can be great for conversation pieces which could then lead into dive stories. Get yours over at wandererimports.com
